Seven representatives of London golf clubs visit until Saturday the facilities and the offer of some of the clubs and accommodations included in the tourist packages of Celtic Spain Golf&Wellness.

This is the reverse mission that completes the action of prospecting to attract the British golfer that this year has been launched through the joint initiative of Celtic Spain.

Seven managers of the main golf clubs in London are visiting Galicia these days, knowing in depth the facilities and the offer of the golf clubs of Oca Augas Santas in Lugo, Mondariz, Meis and Santiago, which have captured the interest of British professionals who have moved to our territory within the fam trip promoted by Celtic Spain Gofl & Wellness.

The visit takes place since yesterday and will continue until next Saturday with the aim of publicizing Galicia in the British market as a perfect destination for the enjoyment of a combined package of golf, thermalism and gastronomy.

This is the second of the actions launched by this initiative CELTIC SPAIN GOLF & WELLNESS, promoted in the framework of the ideas contest of the Galician Tourism Cluster at the proposal of the Association Galicia Golf Destination, Association Spas of Galicia, Oca Hotels and Hotel Carlos I, with the collaboration of Tourism of Galicia.

Throughout the four days of the fam trip, the professionals of the London golf clubs Stockley Park Golf Club, Finchley Golf Club, Wycombe Heights Golf Club, Houghton-le-Spring Golf Club, Indian Golf Society and Club Español de Golf have the opportunity to know some of the tourist packages created within this program, which combine golf with hotels/sports that are within the initiative (Oca Hotels, Hotel Carlos I Silgar, Oca Augas Santas Balneario Golf & Resort, Hotel Balneario Laias Caldaria, Termas de Cuntis, Balneario de Mondariz, Gran Talaso Hotel Sanxenxo, Hotel Nuevo Astur, Balneario Eurostars Gran Hotel La Toja and Eurostars Isla de la Toja), as well as the travel agencies Abramar Viajes and Viajes Interrías. All this with the aim of discovering the Galician environment and gastronomy first hand, accompanied by people in charge of the different golf clubs, hotels and spas where they enjoy their stay. And, of course, practice the sport that has brought them here.

In this regard, the general secretary of Galicia Golf Destination, Javier de la Cerda, stressed the importance of this type of familiarization trips, which allow the heads of golf clubs to personally know the particularities of each golf course, “only with practice is really known the particularities of each course, and that is something that has to experience them, only then can recommend their members to travel to Galicia,” he said.

In the fam trip also accompanies them, the president of the Galician Center of London, Nicolas Miño, who hosted the previous meeting that Galician businessmen held last month in London to publicize this tourism proposal.
