They are taking part these days in a familiarisation trip promoted by the Cluster through the Galicia Golf Salud project.
A group of prescriptors and tour operators from Portugal are taking part in a familiarisation trip to discover the Galician golf offer. The initiative is part of the Galicia Golf Salud project promoted by the Galicia Golf Association, the Oca Hoteles chain and the company Viajes Abramar and promoted by the Galician Tourism Cluster. Galicia Golf Salud has its origins in the ideas competition held in 2018 by the Cluster to encourage members to improve the marketing and promotion of Galicia as a destination.
The participants in this trip have had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the Ría de Vigo golf course, the Mondariz Spa, the Montealegre club, the Iberik Augas Santas Balneario & Golf hotel, the Hotel Oca Puerta del Camino and the Real Aero Club de Santiago and have been able to enjoy this sport in several of the golf courses visited and participate in informative workshops, as well as taste the Galician gastronomic offer and enjoy other attractions such as the landscapes of the Ribeira Sacra.
Among the actions planned for this year through Galicia Golf Salud are, in addition to the familiarisation trip, the creation of tourist packages that include overnight stays (at least one night) and free green fees at the courses included in the programme. The aim of this strategy is to promote Galicia as a nearby and safe destination for markets such as central and northern Portugal.
