Three days of sailing, 92 nautical miles and a route of 7.45 km on foot served to complete the Nautical Crossing Xacobea promoted by Asnauga, in collaboration with the charter company Sailway and the ARD Ria Muros Noia culminated the South Route of the Xacobea Nautical Crossing.

This Crossing, which for the first time stops at a port on the Ría de Muros Noia (Real Club Náutico de Portosin) aimed to promote tourism and water sports, publicize the facilities and marinas of its network of partners (26 ports), and the promotion of the Xacobean Nautical Crossing in its two slopes, the South Route and the North Route, so that tourism can join, nautical and religious, three aspects inherent to this Autonomous Community.

The initiative was attended by tour operators and journalists from Spain, Brazil, Venezuela, England, Scotland, Belgium, who left the Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona through the R.C.N. of Vigo, R.C.N. of Rodeira de Cangas, C.N. of Portonovo, R.C.N. of Sanxenxo, C.N. of San Vicente, C.N.D. of Riveira, Marina Arousa and ending in the R.C.N. of Portosin. Later they moved to Santiago de Compostela where they travelled the last 7,45 km walking from the Milladoiro to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, obtaining the Nautical Compostela.

The participants unanimously, praised the initiative of this Crossing, the landscape of the Galician coast, the gastronomy, as well as the welcome on the part of the Galician Nautical Clubs.

Asnauga was the first Spanish entity to organize a Nautical Pilgrimage of international scope in 2014 on the occasion of the 8th centenary of the pilgrimage of San Francisco de Asis to Santiago de Compostela, which organized with two fleets, one from Genoa Italy and the second from Avilés (Asturias), the fleet was formed by a total of 45 sailing boats with 275 crew. This was the first time that Compostela was awarded to a pilgrimage by sea.
