The association Hostelería de Compostela estimated the occupation of its associated establishments, hotels and pensions in the month of June at 77.85% in the case of hotels and 76.56% in the case of pensions, with a clear upturn in foreign visitors who accounted for just over 50% of total travelers, thus surpassing the domestic market. The figures, in any case, remain in similar figures to the same period last year, with ten points difference between the percentage of foreign travelers compared to nationals.
However, the entity that brings together professionals in the hospitality and accommodation of the Galician capital are cautious when advancing occupation forecasts for the Apostle’s Holidays and for the month of July as a whole. Thus, for the days 24 to 27 July, occupancy rates are estimated at almost 68% in the case of hotels and 69% in pensions, figures that move very close to the whole of July. For the balance of the month, the association calculates that will reach an occupancy of just over 63% for hotels and 68% for pensions.
