The Secretariat of State for Tourism has opened the registration period for the Host training program, which in this, the seventeenth edition, will include as its main novelty the offer of seven courses on the application of good practice guides to prevent contagion of Covid-19 among customers and workers in the sector.
In total, 16 online courses will be available in the new edition of a program that, since its creation in 2009, has trained more than 30,000 tourism professionals. “Since its inception, Anfitriones has trained 30,415 professionals in the tourism sector. Of these, 35% have participated in courses scheduled until August this year, which shows the interest aroused by a training offer adapted to the new reality imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic,” said the Secretary of State for Tourism, Fernando Valdés.
In addition to the seven courses on good practices against the coronavirus, the Secretary of State highlights the programs Culture of Detail and Destination in Detail, which seek to improve and enhance the quality of tourism facilities through beautification techniques and reforms to make them more accessible and sustainable.
The training offer also includes two of the courses that were best received in the previous edition: Introduction to Digital Skills and Intelligent Tourist Destinations.
The Host courses are aimed at professionals from all the sub-sectors involved in tourism, from accommodation and hospitality to travel agencies, transport, guides, stores, ski resorts and marinas. They are also suitable for employees of public tourism services, such as those who work in information offices, on beaches, in protected natural areas or in museums.
The registration period is open until September 27th for tutored courses, and until the end of the same for the rest of the courses. The courses will take place between October 5, 2020 and January 31, 2021. The Affiliate training plan is totally free.
