With the aim of highlighting the great conditions for the practice of golf that counts Galicia, along with complementary as its enogastronomy or thermalism, started in july another edition of Senior Golf CompetitionTurismo de Galicia, aimed at golfers over 50 years.
This year’s tournament consist of six national qualifying events and a grand final that will be played in Galicia, specifically in the splendid golf course of the Hotel Balneario de Mondariz. The first of these is hold on July 13 at the golf course of El Saler Parador in Valencia, which was followed by the Golf Country Club-Tour Zarapicos, in Castilla y León. After the summer vacation, the competition was revived in September, with the celebration of the 5th of the third test at the Zuasti Club de Campo (Navarra); Day 7 will be the turn for the Real New Golf Club of San Sebastián, Basozabal, in the Basque Country; On Tuesday 12 at the Club Zaudín Golf (Andalucia), the sixth and final qualifying event, will be in Madrid at the RACE Golf Jarama on 14 September. The grand finale of the circuit will be played in the Galician community, in the golf course of Balneario de Mondariz.
In each and every one of the tests the participants will receive a welcome gift; They will enjoy, in the middle of the trip, an aperitif of typical Galician products and during the prize-giving cocktail, they will be able to taste the excellence offered by the collaborators of the event and participate in the raffle of gifts.
All qualified events will be held under Stableford Scratch and Individual Handicap. The first of the categories Scratch and Handicap, best lady and best senior teacher of each previous, will be classified directly for the final. The last phase of the Circuit will be held in the Hotel Balneario de Mondariz where the classified players and their companions will be accommodated. The Grand Final will also be held under Stableford Scratch and Individual Handicap on October 16 and 17, and the highest scoring player will be proclaimed a winner after the sum of the two day cards.
