Activities

A total of 27 new tourist establishments and services are added to this list that recognizes the commitment to excellence and strengthens Galicia as a destination.

Galicia’s commitment to excellence comes from being recognized with the first position nationally in the classification of Q for Quality Tourism Quality, awards granted by the Institute for Quality Tourism in Spain. Our Community surpasses Andalusia for the first time after 27 new establishments and services have been incorporated in these months.
With a total of 273 Q awards for Tourist Quality, Galicia’s leadership is particularly outstanding in several areas considered fundamental to the Galician Tourism Strategy 2020 such as sports facilities, rural tourism houses, industrial tourism and active tourism, spas and hotels. Specifically, six out of ten sports yachting facilities with Q for Quality in Spain are in Galicia, 63.6%. In rural tourism, half of the accommodation establishments that will hold this recognition in 2018 are Galician, 47%. The same is true for industrial tourism services and infrastructures (46%), active tourism (37.5%) and spas (23%). Almost 20% of the hotels with Q for Quality will continue to be in Galicia this year, 71 of the 393 distributed throughout Spain, a guarantee for travelers.
Other areas where our Community stands out are travel agencies and catering services. In the latter Galicia wins 11 certifications and occupies the second place.
Excellence and competitiveness
These new data show, once again, the commitment of the Galician tourism sector in two directions: the consolidation of an increasingly competitive destination, where quality takes precedence over quantity; and the interest in offering travelers the best possible service as part of the willingness of the Galicians to always offer the best welcome to those who visit us.
