The Galicia Destino Sostible Product Club focused the dissemination work carried out at the fair in A Coruña from the stand of the Cluster.

The vice-president of the Cluster, Jesús Picallo, highlighted during his speech at the opening ceremony the responsibility and commitment of the tourism sector.

The Galicia Tourism Cluster has played a prominent role in the fourth edition of BioCultura, the fair held in A Coruña from Friday 3 to Sunday 5 to promote organic products and ecotourism. The vice-president of the organisation, Jesús Picallo, was in charge of giving a voice to the tourism sector at the opening ceremony with a speech in which he highlighted the commitment of companies in the sector to sustainability and the enjoyment of the territory marked by respect and care for its resources.

“Sustainable tourism is the only one possible and it is our responsibility as a sector to take on this challenge”, explained Jesús Picallo, pointing out that “from the Galicia Tourism Cluster we are committed to the development of tourism products aligned with the principles of sustainability, because we are aware that our tourism resources are unique and our duty is to preserve them for future generations”. In addition, he explained that, “in this line from the Cluster, in collaboration with the Autonomous Public Administration, we have launched the Galicia Destino Sostible platform, an initiative with which we seek to integrate the entire sustainable tourism offer of our community, put it in value and increase its possibilities of dissemination and marketing”.

The Galicia Destino Sostible Product Club has been the main protagonist of the Cluster’s stand at BioCultura, a space that for three days has served to publicise the wide range of companies and proposals that already make up this initiative: “Since its launch last July, it already has 70 member companies and 150 products, available on the portal galiciadestinosostible.com. By joining, these companies are also joining the commitment to Galicia in its broadest sense: commitment to nature, commitment to renewable energies, circular economy, digitalisation, and support for local social and cultural development. This is the kind of tourism we want for Galicia, the kind that adds up and generates benefits for other sectors, the kind that fits in with the model of sustainable economy, which is the only possible way to keep moving forward and face the challenges we have ahead of us as a society. With this objective in mind, we are working, joining forces and wills to achieve it”, Jesús Picallo also pointed out at the inauguration of the fair in A Coruña.
