The Galician Tourism Cluster will promote with its associates 5 projects of promotion of destination for a value of more than 130 thousand euros.

The entity is already in the phase of bidding and implementation of proposals, which were approved at the last General Assembly

Within the framework of the actions approved by the General Assembly for implementation in this year, the Galician Tourism Cluster will also carry out a total of five projects of promotion, marketing and tourism development of destination, from the proposals that the partners made in the annual call for the Competition of Ideas. The projects will be executed before the end of November of this year for an amount of 130,000 €.

Most of the approved projects are among those that have been active for several years such as Galicia MICE, Galicia Destino Activo , Galicia Destino Familiar or the impulse of the brand Enoturismo Galicia, while one is of new creation, “Un descanso en los Caminos”, which will link the thermalism and the Camino de Santiago. In all of them different actions are proposed, according to the needs and the point of development of the product or the tourist brand.

Thus, in the case of Galicia Wine Tourism, driven by the five Galician wine routes, the proposal this year is the development of a workshop in Madrid for the presentation of this tourist product and the development of networking with specialized companies to improve its marketing.

MICE Galicia, for its part, will organise an international familiarisation trip with 8-10 companies from the international environment, taking into account the main issuing countries, and a networking event with the agents of the MICE sector in Galicia. The initiative will be promoted by the Association of Galician Exhibition Palaces and Congresses, Asehospo, Hospeco, AGAFE and OPC Galicia.

Galicia Active Destination proposes for this year to continue the process of creation and consolidation of product under the brand Galicia Active Destination, advancing in the marketing of active tourism products created in 2018 and the creation of new products, with the collaboration of active tourism companies, accommodation, catering and travel agencies, under the auspices of AGETAN, CN Travel, Agavi and Association for the Development of Quality Tourism in the Region of Ortegal.

In this same line will advance the other brand created by partners and CTG, Galicia Family Destination, which will continue the process of consolidating the tourism product oriented to family tourism, involving the entire tourism value chain of Galicia, increasing the degree of awareness of this brand among the final public and making a presentation also in the Spanish capital, according to the proposal promoted by its promoters: Agalber, CETS, Hotel Bahia, Fegatur and Feprohos.

Finally, this year’s novel project, Un descanso en los Caminos, promoted by Caldaria, Federación Provincial de Hostelería de Ourense, Expourense y Balnearios de Galicia, proposes the development of marketing activities for stays in spas located in the route of the different Caminos de Santiago, through the creation of the product, the realization of promotional material and communication and a workshop in order to attract new marketing channels. A familiarization trip will also be organized to introduce this new tourist product, very oriented to the Way of Saint James.

All the projects have received the same amount of funding, 26 thousand euro for each of the approved projects, which will have to be developed in the coming months. The objective, as explained by the president of the Galician Tourism Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, is to continue advancing in the creation of differentiated and quality tourist products, as well as to articulate proposals that allow the sector to work in a coordinated way, articulating joint proposals that have a better commercialization for the national and international tour operation. “Only by working together, professionally and in response to the needs of the traveller will we be able to offer competitive and profitable proposals that guarantee a tourism sector of the future”.
