Five routes offer visitors the full range of services offered by Galicia’s designations of origin.
October is a month to enjoy wine tourism thanks to the new edition of the Galician Wine Route. On the initiative of Tourism of Galicia and the Association of the Galician Wine Routes, during the five weekends of this month, couples, families and groups of friends will be able to discover Galicia’s rich wine heritage by taking part in free guided visits to the more than 60 participating wineries.
The programme organised for the occasion offers three different visits every Saturday (11.30am, 1pm and 5pm) and one every Sunday (12pm) and each route includes proposals such as wine buses, commented tastings, monumental routes, visits to museums, boat trips and other activities related to the world of wine, as well as discounts for accommodation in the area.
The activities will begin on 1, 2 and 3 October with the Rías Baixas Wine Route. From 8 to 10 October it will be the turn of the Valdeorras Wine Route; while on 15, 16 and 17 October the activities will move to the Ribeira Sacra Wine Route, and from 22 to 24 October to the Ribeiro Wine Route. The programme will conclude on 29, 30 and 31 October with the Monterrei Wine Route.
It was precisely in Monterrei where the entire programme of this tenth edition of the Galician Wine Route was presented in recent days, which will take place under the slogan “Let’s toast again…”. In addition to the 63 participating wineries (30% more than in the previous edition), the initiative has the collaboration of 18 tourist accommodations and 8 catering establishments.
