The Cluster participates through the Provincial Tourism Board in the project promoted by the Provincial Council.
Enogastronomy is the basis on which the Provincial Plan for Tourism Development in Destination is articulated, with which the Provincial Council of Pontevedra will compete for the Next Generation funds. This project aims to promote the development of rural areas and contribute to the fixation of population with a proposal that turns the province into a territory of excellence and that is also aligned with the National Gastronomic Tourism Plan.
To achieve this, the provincial institution has required the collaboration of both public and private actors, as was made clear at the meeting of the Provincial Tourism Board held this Thursday to advance the main lines of action of the project. The meeting was attended by the provincial president, Carmela Silva, municipal officials from Pontevedra, Vigo and Poio, the director of Peinador Airport, Ana Molés; representatives of the Pontevedra Hotel and Catering Federation (Feprohos), the Sanxenxo Tourism Consortium, the Rías Baixas Wine Route, the Carlos Oroza (Pontevedra) and Manuel Antonio(Vigo) integrated professional education centres, and the president of the Galicia Tourism Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal.
Sustainability, digitalisation, integration and innovation will guide this plan that aims to act on the entire value chain of enogastronomy, from production to the transformation of the product, combining it with tourist experiences that also include the enjoyment of the history, nature and heritage of the environment. The actions promoted by the hotel and catering sector, the designations of origin and the protected geographical indications present in the province will be combined with actions to improve the signposting of tourist resources related to enogastronomy and with the creation of specific tourist products.
