Galicia continues to advance in tourism deseasonalization, as reflected in the data published by the National Institute of Statistics referring to the month of October in hotels and guesthouses.

During that month, our community registered more than 493,000 travelers staying in the hotel sector, who stayed close to 895,000 nights. These figures exceed the values ​​registered last year by 7.7% and 4.5% respectively. They are the highest levels achieved in the month of October since there are records. This increase makes Galicia advance in its deseasonalization, with a trend that was already maintained in the first five months of the year, when levels of hotel demand were recorded with growth between 34% and 5% between January and May.

During the month of October, the hotel sector also improved profitability levels by 10%, with an estimated nominal income of 39.6 million euros in October (13.4% more than last year); and also higher than the value before the pandemic, when 29 million euros were invoiced.

According to the INE, hotel profitability also grew in the first nine months of the year, reaching 7%. The global figures for passengers and nights will be completed when the data for the rest of the accommodation establishments (rural tourism, campsites, hostels, apartments and tourist homes) are also counted, in the survey of non-hotel establishments that will be announced in December.
