The occupation of the Galician tourism sector during this Holy Week has been between 75% and 85%, figures similar to those registered in 2019. The good weather conditions favored last-minute reservations, achieving an increase in the occupancy percentages during the holidays.

The majority profile of the tourist who came to Galicia was of national origin, although, in some destinations, such as Santiago or A Coruña, the proportion of international tourists was higher than average.

The Camino de Santiago and rural tourism, especially in areas such as the Ribeira Sacra, the Costa da Morte and O Courel, have registered good occupancy rates and a notable influx of pilgrims has benefited the rural accommodation on the Jacobean Route.

Analysis by territories:

The analysis by area shows that both the province of Pontevedra and the city of Pontevedra had an average weekly occupancy of around 75%, approaching 80% on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Similar figures are collected in the Vigo area, registering an average occupancy of 70% throughout the week and 80%/85% between Thursday and Saturday.

The occupancy rate of Sanxenxo reached 77.98%, a figure that increases even more if the 4 and 3 star hotels are considered (86.29% and 80.25% respectively).

The occupancy forecasts for the city of A Coruña were met, reaching a percentage of 80%. Most of the visitors to the Herculean city during Holy Week were of national origin, and some foreign tourists began to be seen.

The Costa da Morte hosted spectacular celebrations, such as Easter in Fisterra, of national tourist interest, and the famous Camariñas racing show, which is now 32 years old.

In Santiago de Compostela, the occupancy rate in the entire city was 75% from Thursday to Sunday. This figure increases when considering the facilities located in historical complexes.

In Ferrol, where Holy Week has been declared of International Tourist Interest, many establishments (both in the city and in nearby towns) have also achieved very positive values, especially from Thursday to Sunday.

The province of Lugo closes Holy Week above what was planned for these days. The occupancy rate in the city of Lugo reaches 84% and increases to 89% in the Mariña area.

The Ribeira Sacra also exceeded expectations, 6% above the record set the eve of Easter, and exceeding 90% occupancy on the holiday.

Finally, in Ourense 80% occupancy was reached during these days thanks, in part, to last-minute reservations conditioned by the good weather of the week.
