Inland waters, use and recovery of degraded spaces will be the central axis around which this year’s programme revolves.

Under the title “Inland waters: the recovery of natural, mining and industrial spaces and their sustainable uses”, Cerceda will host this year a new edition of Ibernáutica, promoted by a private organisation with the support of the Xunta de Galicia through the Conselleria de Medio Ambiente, Territorio y Vivienda, the Diputación de A Coruña and the Concello de Cerceda, as well as entities such as Augas de Galicia, the Faculty of Geography, History and Territorial Planning of the University of Santiago de Compostela, the Water and Environmental Engineering Group of the University of A Coruña, the School of Tourism of A Coruña, the College of Naval Engineers, and private entities such as the Cluster.

With the aim of valuing industrial heritage as a resource capable of generating wealth, which leads to the interest in preserving and protecting it, as well as the recovery of extensive degraded areas, with the closure of mines and the crisis of Galicia’s industrial sector, the programme will have the participation of leading experts in the field, such as José Antonio Quiroga Díaz, president of the Miño Sil Hydrographic Confederation. Ministry for the Ecological Transition; Teresa Gutiérrez, director of Aguas de Galicia; Roberto Arias Sánchez, deputy director general of Management of the Public Water Domain Augas de Galicia, as well as representatives of entities linked to the tourist exploitation of these resources such as the director of Tourism of Galicia, Nava Castro, the president of the CTG, Cesáreo Pardal, the manager of INORDE, José Manuel Rodríguez, the president of Agatur, Juan Luis López or the vice-president of the Galician Academy of Gastronomy, Manuel Rodilla del Barrio, among others.

The management of inland waters, projects for the recovery of spaces, the management of inland waters and their sustainability from the point of view of tourism or the practice of sport in inland waters in Spain and Galicia, will be some of the topics to be addressed over the two days, as you can see in their program.
