• Various works will be carried out with the aim of addressing and improving the humidity problems present on the facades of San Francisco and Obradoiro streets.

The tender for the rehabilitation works at the Parador in Santiago de Compostela, a building linked to Turespaña, has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). The investment allocated to these works amounts to almost 10.5 million euros, financed with European funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) – Next Generation.

The intervention at the Parador de Santiago will focus on the restoration of the facades that face the Plaza del Obradoiro and the west side, the Renaissance patios, the historic eaves, and conservation work on the Royal Chapel and its dome. In addition, various actions will be carried out to address humidity problems on the facades of San Francisco and Obradoiro streets. Also included is the highlighting of the patios and elements of the facades through lighting. The estimated cost of these works is 10,483,373.37 euros, without taxes.

The tender for these works, announced on the Public Sector Contracting Platform, is part of a first set of tenders for the conservation, improvement and enhancement of five inns in Turespaña with the consideration of Assets of Cultural Interest (BIC). The base tender budget for the entire project is almost 14 million euros (13,417,144.39 euros without taxes). The Parador of Santiago de Compostela will be the work that will receive the largest investment within this project.
