A dozen establishments participate in the new call of this programme of the Pontevedra Provincial Council, that offers more than 4,400 places.

Thermal tourism and active ageing go hand in hand again in Pontevedra thanks to the new call for Depotermal, a programme promoted by the Pontevedra Provincial Council that encourages tourist activity in periods of lower demand by putting some establishments at the service of improving the quality of life of part of the population. Depotermal is aimed at people born before 1 January 1972 or born after that date who receive a pension or have a disability of more than 64 %, but who can manage on their own in their daily lives.

Applicants will have access to two different programmes in a dozen spas and health resorts in the province: daily attendance for five consecutive days in the morning or afternoon, or attendance with full-board accommodation  from Sunday to Friday. The first programme offers a maximum of 1,248 places and the second, 3,186, which brings the total number of places in this Depotermal programme to more than 4,400. The Provincial Council subsidises part of the cost of the programme with grants that vary according to the applicant’s income and can reach 40 % of the total amount.

The establishments participating in the Daily Assistance programme are the Palacio del Agua (Mondariz), the Hotel Exe Vía Argentum (Silleda), the Termas de Cuntis Spa, the Hotel Spa Galatea (Portonovo, Sanxenxo) and the Hotel Spa Nuevo Astur (Vilalonga, Sanxenxo). The latter three also offer the programme with overnight stay, as do the Gran Hotel Talaso Sanxenxo, the Hotel Spa Carlos I Silgar (Sanxenxo), the Hotel Spa Norat Torre do Deza (Lalín) and the Hotel Spa Nanín Playa (Sanxenxo).

The deadline for submitting applications began on 4 April and will be open until 3 May through the electronic headquarters of the Pontevedra Provincial Council.
