The Galician Wine Routes are preparing to experience a new edition of the Open Doors Spring, a collaboration between the Xunta and the five entities that promote the wine routes. This year, more than 100 establishments will participate, including 69 wineries, 13 restaurants and 21 accommodations, with more than 60 activities planned for the months of May and June.
During the presentation, the manager of Tourism of Galicia, Antonio Casas, highlighted the successful trajectory of this initiative, which is now 13 years old and has become an outstanding tourist experience outside of the high season. The event also featured the intervention of the member of the Galician Tourism Cluster and president of the Ruta do Viño do Ribeiro, Juan Manuel Casares Gándara, and with the presence of the president and vice president of the Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal and Jesus Picallo Santos.
The Spring of Open Doors on the Wine Routes will begin on May 3 in the D.O. of Valdeorras and will run for five weekends in May and June, with free guided visits to the participating wineries. In addition to visits to wineries, there will be restaurants with special menus harmonized with wines from the corresponding Designation of Origin, as well as a special plan of activities that include showcookings, electric bicycle routes, live music, blind tastings, picnics among vineyards and much more.
