Galicia will be present at the international trade fair being held from 30 November to 2 December in the Catalan capital.
Event tourism has a date this week in Barcelona. From 30 November to 2 December, the Catalan capital is holding a new edition of IBTM World, an international trade fair that serves as a major meeting point for representatives of the conference, meetings and incentives industry. The activities will take place at the Fira Barcelona facilities, bringing together more than 15,000 professionals representing 3,000 destinations from 100 countries around the world. The Galician sector will also be represented there through the Turespaña stand, which will host, among other proposals, those of Galicia Tourism and Galicia MICE.
The organisers estimate that more than 77,000 business meetings will be held during the three days of IBTM World, enabling exhibitors and buyers to establish face-to-face connections. Business travel management companies, corporate organisations, destination management companies, event management companies, incentive agencies, independent meeting planners, international associations and societies, experience agencies, non-governmental organisations and professional conference organisers will be present.
The planned programme of activities includes an educational track “designed to provide tangible learning and innovative solutions for attendees in a post-pandemic world under the title New Business, New Technology, New World”. Within this section there will be sessions on four topical themes: trends and technology; gamification and engagement; the future of event planning; and professional and personal development. In addition, there will be keynote speeches by Alba del Villa Olano, digital transformation expert and serial entrepreneur; Gian Power, founder and CEO of TLC Lions; and Darren Coleman, brand experience and strategy specialist.
