• Galicia, Cantabria, Asturias and Castilla y León establish a common framework to promote the project and encourage digital transformation and promote economic reactivation by taking advantage of the cultural resources of the Xacobean route.

The ‘Stellae 5.0 Digital Heritage linked to the Camino de Santiago’ program, of public-private participation, is governed by the clear motto of ‘From many to all’. The autonomous communities of Cantabria, Galicia, Asturias and Castilla y León have established a joint collaboration framework to explore financing avenues, starting with the raising of 16 million euros of European Next Generation funds.

The initiative, according to the executive bodies, is based on university experience to highlight the cultural heritage of southern Europe, with the aim of promoting its universalization and facilitating its conservation through digitalization. In this context, universities play a prominent role.

For this reason, the project, presented in Santiago de Compostela, has the participation of the Conference of Rectors of the Universities and Polytechnic Institutes of Southwestern Europe (CRUSOE) and seeks to take advantage of university knowledge to value the cultural legacy of the south of Europe through digitalization. The participation of international companies such as NTT Data, European universities, technological and audiovisual clusters, as well as Third Sector entities stands out.
