The subsidies, directed to lodgings and restaurants, are framed in the actions to improve the coastal areas and to increase the sustainability.

The establishments of the tourist and hotel sector located in the municipalities of the Galician coast will be able to choose to two lines of aids enabled by the Xunta in the frame of the performances impelled by the Galician Government to embellish the coastal zones and to foment the sustainable tourism and that also include an item of 4,4 million for performances carried out directly by the city councils.

In the case of the tourism sector, the aid approved at the meeting of the Council of the Xunta on Thursday 15, totaling 2.1 million euros. Slightly more than half of that amount, 1,125,000 euros, will go to actions in the field of environmental technologies, and the remaining 950,000 euros, to improvements of the coastal tourist facade.

The aids are destined to lodgings (hotels, campings, rural tourism, tourist apartments and lodges) and to restaurants, cafeterias and bars located in coastal municipalities and that appear in the Registry of Companies and Tourist Activities of the Xunta. The call will be published in the next few days in the Galician Official Gazette and applicants will have one month to submit their applications.
