Cesáreo Pardal participated in the presentation of the initiatives organised in Compostela by the Government Delegation in Galicia.
The Galicia Tourism Cluster was one of the entities invited to participate last Tuesday 27th December, in the presentation of the Tourism Sustainability Plans in Destination organised by the Government Delegate in Galicia, José Miñones. Cesáreo Pardal met with the president of the Provincial Council of A Coruña, Valentín Formoso; the provincial deputy of Pontevedra Ana Iglesias, the president of the Galician Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, Alberto Varela; the manager of Tourism of Galicia, Antonio Casas; the subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Emilio González, and about thirty mayors and other municipal representatives and representatives of the associations and associations benefited in this call.
Miñones stressed in his speech that the 16 planned actions (13 Tourism Sustainability Plans in Destination and three Cohesion Actions between Destinations) in Galicia for a total amount of 34.5 million euros will have a direct impact on nearly a hundred Galician municipalities with investments in areas such as accessibility, sustainable mobility, energy efficiency and innovation. All of this under the umbrella of Enogastronomy, which takes over from Xacobeo as a priority theme. The Government Delegate also reiterated the role of local authorities in Galicia in this area, as they are responsible for designing and implementing most of the actions funded by the Government and that “will revitalise cities, towns and villages throughout Galicia”.
Thus, from the Government Delegation pointed out that the execution corresponds, in the Sustainability Plans, to the local entities promoting each initiative, and in the case of the Territorial Cohesion Actions, to the Xunta de Galicia. “The Government transfers the entire budget to the Autonomous Government and it is this Administration that subsequently invests in its projects and sends the amounts awarded to local councils, associations, groups or provincial councils to develop their own projects.
