The new agreement, approved by the regional government, will involve an investment of 1 million euros until 2025 for the development, creation, marketing and dissemination of products.
The collaboration that the Xunta and the Galicia Tourism Cluster have been developing to promote sustainable tourism will continue. At the last meeting of the Regional Government Council, the renewal of the agreement signed between the Galicia Tourism Agency and this cluster for the consolidation of sustainable tourism products in Galicia was approved.
The new agreement will allow the further development of the Galicia Destino Sostible Product Club, officially presented in July last year and which in its first eight months of life has already achieved the adhesion of more than 70 companies in the tourism sector (both accommodation, travel agencies and complementary offer companies) and the creation of more than a hundred products. The agreement will be valid until December 2025 and will allow to allocate to this end more than one million euros spread over three years: 333,000 euros for the current year, 343,900 for 2024, and 354,800 for 2025.
The Xunta explains that it will thus be possible to establish lines of action for the strengthening and dissemination of the Galician sustainable tourism offer and to carry out communication actions, product development and creation, as well as support for its commercialisation. They also point out that in this way, progress continues to be made in the “consolidation of Galicia as a sustainable tourist destination, complying with one of the strategic lines established in the 2021-2023 Master Plan Galicia Safe Destination: that of 360° sustainability.
