The Xunta’s tourism product, in collaboration with Renfe and the Ourensano Institute for Economic Development (Inorde), has been awarded the “Tourism-Friendly” award in the short-distance travel category, organized by the International Union of Railways (UIC).

The UIC TopRail Tourism Awards recognize the best destinations in 2025, highlighting leadership in the development and creation of memorable experiences for travelers, highlighting the role of the train as a sustainable and inclusive means of transport.

This recognition highlights a well-established tourism initiative that sparks visitor interest in exploring and learning about our wine culture, heritage, landscape, and history.

In 2025, the Tourist Trains offered 2,530 seats across 13 routes, with occupancy reaching 92.15%.

The routes that sold out were the Cheese, Ribeira Sacra-Miño, Rías Baixas, Ribeira Sacra-Sil, and Faros routes.
