• The participatory process with which the diagnosis of the Galician tourism sector is being prepared enters its final phase this week

Tourism Cluster and the Galician Tourism Agency begin this week what will be the last work tables, in which participate several professionals, including public and private agents in the sector, have already participated. In these 20 sessions, the needs and challenges for the coming years are being presented, and information is collected on the different perspectives and challenges that tourism faces in the different areas of Galician geography.

In the programming for the next few days, the holding of working groups is planned in Rúa de Valdeorras (Centro Cultural Avenida), Monterrei (Castelo de Monterrei/Hospital de la Trinidad) and Allariz (Hotel OCA Vila de Allariz). The process of these working groups will end in the Galician capital, in Santiago de Compostela (Galician Congress and Exhibition Palace), on December 1.

To accommodate all professionals in the tourism sector and interested people, an online questionnaire was also enabled in which vision and suggestions are collected. You can access this through the page https://diagnoseturismo.gal/participa-diagnose, where you will also find the calendar of the work tables.

Making the diagnosis

Furthermore, in collaboration with the three Galician universities, a scientific analysis is being prepared on the supply, demand and value chain of the tourism sector in Galicia, analyzing at retail the resources that constitute part of its differential offer. This analysis will also address the qualitative and quantitative evolution of the sector in the period 2016-2023.

With this study, Turismo de Galicia and the Tourism Cluster seek to know the current picture of the sector at a time marked by changes in tourist habits, with trends marked by sustainability and digitalization. These issues will be addressed in the diagnosis along with three other key aspects: supply, analyzing Galicia’s retail resources that constitute part of its differential offer; the demand, with the aim of knowing its evolution in recent years; and the Galician tourism value chain, delimiting the tourism sector from a business point of view.
