Sanxenxo will become the epicenter of nautical tourism on October 3 and 4 with the celebration of the 6th Nautical Club Symposium, a key event for the sector that will bring together representatives of clubs from all over Spain. The event, organized by CEACNA and ASNAUGA with the support of the Xunta, will serve to address the main challenges of recreational nautical in the XXI century: sustainability, taxation, legislation, youth participation or social inclusion in nautical practice.

• Or nautical tourism as an engine of growth

During the presentation of the meeting, held on July 14 in Santiago, the increasing value or weight of nautical tourism in Galicia was highlighted, with 73 sports ports and more than 10,000 mooring places. In 2024, more than 6,300 vessels in transit cost 37,000 passengers, which shows an average stay of 6 days and an estimated income of 7.5 million euros.

The symposium is part of a broader strategy to promote nautical tourism and deseasonalization, which includes investments in port infrastructure, attracting large sporting events and supporting conferences linked to the sector. Galicia was the scene of international events such as the Volvo Ocean Race, the Global Só Challenge or the 52 Super Series, consolidating itself as a reference destination for sailors and enthusiasts from all over the world.
