The Terras de Trives region will be the Spanish Mountain Capital in 2024. This recognition is granted by the Spanish Association of Mountain Municipalities (esMontañas), an entity that was born in 2013, with the objective of “promoting legislative improvements and actions that contribute to improve the lives of its inhabitants, stop the depopulation of these territories and generate economic and social development in these municipalities,” the group explains. It is currently made up of nearly 250 Spanish municipalities.
