An agreement will allow the allocation of 1.5 million euros over the next three years to carry out campaigns, participate in trade fairs and congresses, and create tourism products.

The Xunta is once again placing its trust in the Galicia Tourism Cluster as a key entity for the development of the sector in the region. This will be materialised in the collaboration agreement between the two parties, which was authorised at the meeting of the Xunta Government held on Friday 10 December. The agreement foresees that the Xunta will make a contribution of 1.5 million euros, which will be distributed in three annual instalments of 500,000 euros for the years 2022, 2023 and 2024.

This money will allow the Cluster to work towards achieving the objectives of the 2021-2023 Galicia Safe Destination Master Plan, which has been drawn up by the Xunta, the Cluster and the three Galician universities, the key pillars of which are safety, sustainability and quality. The agreement will allow the entity chaired by Cesáreo Pardal to promote and market Galicia as a safe tourist destination, both in the national and international markets, to regain the confidence of travellers and to encourage the new consumers that have emerged as a result of the covid pandemic to choose Galicia.

Among the actions planned are the launch of advertising campaigns, participation in fairs, congresses, exhibitions and other similar events, and the creation and consolidation of tourism products. It will also promote familiarisation trips and workshops, and support online marketing projects that help to take advantage of new technologies in the dissemination of the Galician tourism offer. In addition, the Way of St. James will play an important role in these actions as a differentiating element and backbone and strategic axis of the Galicia brand.
