The restaurants could open until 10:30 p.m. with reservations and customer registration and the rest of the hotel industry until 9:30 p.m.

The Galicia Tourism Cluster trusts that the measures adopted after the Clinical Committee next Tuesday will mark the beginning of the recovery of the activity in the face of the new post-Covid scenario.

The president of the Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, participated yesterday, together with representatives of the Galician hospitality industry, in the meeting called by the First Vice-president of the Xunta and Tourism Department, the Department of Emprego and Equality and the Department of Health.

In the meeting, the intention was advanced to bring the curfew until 11:00 p.m. and advance in the expansion of the opening hours of the hotel business. The change could be especially significant in the case of the 3,200 restaurants in Galicia, which could start serving dinner until 10:30 p.m. In all cases, it would have to be prior reservation and with the guarantee of compliance with the corresponding capacity and safety distances. In addition, restaurants would have to register customers, either through the PassCOVID application and the QR code, or manually.

In the case of the rest of the hospitality establishments, the opening hours would be until 9:30 p.m.

The evolution of the epidemic after Easter in Galicia encourages optimism, with a cumulative incidence of 64 cases per 100,000 inhabitants at 14 days and 32 cases at 7 days. These are figures that are well below those registered in the rest of Spain.

These data are the result, among other factors, of the sacrifice and responsibility assumed by the tourism sector to reduce trips and meetings, which has led to the maintenance of activity to a minimum.

The Galician Tourism Cluster insists on the need for the Administrations to speed up the vaccination process as much as possible and the mechanisms aimed at ensuring maximum safety when traveling and staying in the summer.
