The conference, in which leading experts will participate, has been organised with the collaboration of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra and the Galician Tourism Agency.

The Municipal Auditorium of Vilagarcía de Arousa will host this Tuesday, 20th December, a monographic conference about Good practices in tourism management organised by the Galicia Tourism Cluster with the collaboration of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra and the Galicia Tourism Agency, which will bring together a large group of experts from both the public and private sectors. The aim of this activity, which will be structured around several presentations and round tables, is to allow these tourism agents to share their experiences and to share examples of good practice in tourism management in various areas, as well as to assess the medium and long-term benefits that the implementation of appropriate management systems has for both companies and destinations.

 

The activities will begin at 9.30 a.m. with the intervention of the Mayor of Vilagarcía de Arousa, Alberto Varela Paz; the President of the Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, and the President of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra, Carmela Silva, and will conclude at 2 p.m. with the closing ceremony by the Vice-President of the Cluster, Jesús Picallo; the Provincial Deputy for New Technologies and Business Development, Ana María Mejías, and the Director of Galicia Tourism, Nava Castro.

 

In between, there will be two round tables and two presentations. The first round table, scheduled for 10 a.m., will be dedicated to good practices at the destination and will include the participation of Emilio Torres, from Vía Verde del Aceite, and Paulo Queiroz, from JPQ Consultores (Portugal), with Ana Laura Iglesias, provincial deputy for Tourism and Youth, as moderator. Next (11 a.m.), Fiorella Petrone and Jaime de la Calzada, from Amadeus, will talk about tourism analysis and forecasting through Big Data.

 

Víctor Sixto, an expert in tourism and enogastronomy, will be the protagonist of the next presentation (12.15), talking about tourism experiences. And at 12.45 pm, the last round table, dedicated to good business practices, will bring together María Troncoso, from Hostelería por el clima, Coca-Cola EuroPacific Partners; Rafael González, managing partner of Vivential Value, Roberto Fraga, CEO of Pilgrim, and, as moderator, the provincial deputy Ana María Mejías.
