The participants collaborate by creating ideas for technological development and will be able to obtain prizes of more than 4,500€ among the winning groups.
Deputation of Pontevedra and Minube, together with Smartpeme and Turismo Rías Baixas, organize the “Hackathon Challenge: DESTInno” in which it will also count on the collaboration of the Galician Tourism Cluster. This hackathon will take place in the context of the II Jornnada TurisTIC that will take place in Vigo. It will bring together professionals from the technology sector with tourism professionals to develop ideas that, in practice, promote intelligent tourist destinations, such as mobile applications. This workspace for the collaborative development of technological solutions will take place at the headquarters of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra in Vigo, on 8 and 9 April 2019.
Hackathon Challenge: DESTInno on intelligent tourist destinations is held on the occasion of the Second Conference TurisTIC Pontevedra, an initiative designed by the Provincial Council of Pontevedra to support the provincial tourism sector in terms of new technologies. In this context, the hackathon #DesafioDESTInno will try to strengthen competitiveness between destinations based on concepts of accessibility, sustainability, innovation and technology.
Participants, in groups of up to 3 people, may compete to develop the most innovative application from 10:00 hours on Monday to 15:00 hours on Tuesday. The members of the group (professionals or students from different sectors of the field of computer programming, web design and app and tourism sector) will compete for one of the 3 awards, presenting their most innovative ideas for a technological management that ensures the success of tourism. In this way, Diputación de Pontevedra and Minube contribute to the tourism industry with actions that ensure that good tourism management can make you operate as an agent of change.
In addition to getting all participants to participate in another development contest, there will be three prizes for the best applications:
Zona Franca de Vigo sponsors the 1st prize of €3,000
Cluster TIC de Galicia sponsors the 2nd prize of 1.000€.
Galician Tourism Cluster sponsors the 3rd prize of €500
