The president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, this morning inaugurated the Galicia stand at Fitur which, on its first day, has become, together with the Madrid one, the most active space at the fair.
Núñez Feijóo stressed that the Xacobeo 2021 2022 opens the door of Galicia to the traveler and becomes “the best place in the world”. And he added that this Community “is already prepared” to be the protagonists of a safe and quality destination.
Throughout the day, the Galicia stand hosted the presentation of Santiago’s tourist offer, under the slogan “Compostela, on the other side of the mirror.”
During the morning, the Provincial Council of A Coruña presented the Cabo Ortegal Geopark project. For its part, the A Coruña City Council presented its proposal, entitled “A Coruña, dream in the Atlantic”.
The Commonwealth of the City Council of the Ferrol Region opted for nature tourism in the Caminos de San Andrés de Teixido.
Throughout the day, different proposals were presented related to the origin of the Camino de Santiago in the sea voyage that, according to legend, the body of the Apostle made from Palestine to Padrón.
The Cultural Itinerary to Santiago de la Ría de Muros Noia was presented; the Mar de Santiago project, of the Vilanova de Arousa, Pontecesures, Catoira and Valga town councils; “El Origen”, from the Geodestino Barbanza Arousa
At the end of the afternoon, the tour guides presented their proposal “Let yourself be guided on the roads.”
Tomorrow, the Galicia Tourism Cluster will make a presentation on the collaboration model followed by industry, administrations and knowledge, which has allowed the sector to resist during the crisis caused by the pandemic and now present itself at Fitur with a proposal that guarantees the safety of the destination and its adaptation to the new post-pandemic tourism.
Proposals from the province of Pontevedra, the city of Vigo, or Lugo, among others, will also be presented, as well as new strategies for thermal tourism.
