The regulatory burden, political uncertainty and competition on line are positioned as the main concerns for companies in the tourism sector in Spain, according to the report “Perspectives Spain 2016” by KPMG firms. This report collected valuation respects to the current situation and forecast for the next 12 months and also analyzes the economic outlook of companies, concerns and strategic priorities both regions and by sector of economic activity.
In the entire report, employers are cautiously optimistic while in regard to the tourism sector, companies surveyed valued as good the situation of the sector (58%) and 42% believe it will improve, with a greater increase the internationalization of the sector. As for the strategic priorities for 2017, the Spanish tourism sector cite the creation of new products / services, internationalization, commitment to innovation and new technologies and settings structure of the company as its top priorities.

This twelfth edition of the report reflects the responses of 1,308 presidents, CEOs, owners and directors (28%); managers (58%); and middle management (13%) of Spanish companies from more than 20 sectors (Automotive, Distribution and Consumption, Energy and Natural Resources, Industry, Infrastructure, Financial Sector, Leisure and Tourism, Chemistry and Pharmacy, Health, Public Sector, Insurance, technology, Telecommunications and Media, Transportation and Other Services) collected between November 2015 and January 2016 through an online survey and telephone interviews.
