Within the framework of an initiative promoted by Turismo de Porto e Norte de Portugal (TPNP) in collaboration with the Tâmega and Sousa Intermunicipal Community and the Tourism Cluster of Galicia to reinforce the region’s knowledge among the Galician tour operators during the February, two familiarization trips are taking place that will allow participants to know in depth these destinations linked to nature tourism, wine and gastronomy.
Pazos de Ferreira, Felgueiras, Celorico de Bastos, Amarante, Baião and Resende were the municipalities chosen for the first fam trip, which took place between 5 and 8 February while the second of the trips, to be held between On February 19 and 21, will focus on the localities of Lousada, Penafiel, Marco de Canaveses, Castillo de Paiva and Cinfães.

Yu Travel, Viajes Halcón Lugo and Galicia, Five Sensations, Siente Galicia, Tee Travel, Viento Celta, Galicia Holiday and Vio Viajes are the operators that together with the Cluster Turismo Galicia participate in this initiative that, according to the president of TPNP, Melchor Moreira, Serves to “strengthen relations and dynamics between Galicia and Portugal” “consolidating the brand and the perception of the territory for the Galician market, in addition to generating cross-border synergies between both territories”. The final objective is to contribute to generate new flows of tourists that contribute to the deseasonalization of Portuguese tourism, increase the average stay and generate greater returns, challenges of this sector in the neighboring country.

This initiative is inserted in the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Tourism of Porto and North of Portugal, the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation Galicia-Norte de Portugal (GNP-EGTC) and the Galicia Tourism Agency .
