The presentation took place in the frame of Termatalia in the frame of which the first workshop of development of tourist products linking thermalism and Way of Santiago was developed.
Participants in the initiative were able to discover part of the Galician tourist resources through three fam trips
The incorporation of the offer of Balnerios de Galicia to the users of the Way of Saint James is the objective with which the project “A rest in the ways” is born, impelled in the context of the contest of ideas of the Cluster of Tourism of Galicia with the participation of the Galician Association of the Balnearia Property, Expourense, Provincial Federation of Businessmen of Hotels and Restaurants, Tourism of Ourense and Thermal Caldaria that in the framework of the celebration of Termatalia 2019 carried out the presentation of the project and its first actions.
The final objective is to design a series of tourist products that allow to complement the Way of Santiago incorporating the offer of Spas of Galicia and for it took a workshop in which participated 30 companies, 16 travel agencies, 10 spas, 2 talasos and other companies linked with the sector.
In the frame of the fair of thermal tourism celebrated in Ourense they maintained the first contacts to develop a tourist product that includes lodging, thermal program and complementary activities linked with the Way of Santiago and with the surroundings of the spas. “This product will not only be directed to pilgrims, but to people interested in the Way and in the destination Galicia, as much of national origin as international”, explained the president of Spas of Galicia, Benigno Amor, in the presentation of the project.
The activity celebrated in the frame of Termatalia was completed with the celebration of a fam trip that took the participants to visit the spas of Mondariz, Laias, Partovia and Augas Santas, complementing the visits with itineraries of different itineraries of the Way of Santiago as well as cultural and enogastronomic visits in Valença do Miño, Tui, Cea, Carballiño and Ribeira Sacra.
