The president of the Cluster took part in the presentation of the candidatures for the extraordinary programme made by the director of Galicia Tourism.
Five projects and a total investment of almost 24 million euros for the period 2023-2025. These are the main data of the Cohesion Actions between Destinations with which the Xunta will opt for the funds of the Extraordinary Programme of Tourism Sustainability Plans in Destinations. This was announced by the director of Galicia Tourism, Nava Castro, in a ceremony held on Friday at the facilities of the Hotel Management School of Galicia with the participation of the head of this institution, Marta Fernández; the general secretary of the Galician Agency for Rural Development, Luisa Boquete, and the president of the Galicia Tourism Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, once again in charge of giving voice to the sector.
Three of these projects are part of the Territorial Plan for Enogastronomy and are valued at 15.85 million euros. One of them, worth 5.85 million euros, focuses on mobility in electric vehicles and proposes the development of itineraries through the different locations of the five Galician Wine Routes, providing them with recharging points. Another project (budgeted at 6.45 million euros) is focused on the adaptation of the facilities and wine tourism resources to offer adapted and immersive experiences to visitors. The third project in this section consists of the development of the Galicia Gastro Experience Hub, an innovation and research centre aimed at catering professionals and whose execution cost will be 3.55 million.
The other two proposals of the Xunta’s candidature are part of the National Plan and are aimed at sustainable mobility. In both cases the budget amounts to 4 million euros. One of them plans the implementation of a service of small river cruises along the Miño oenodestiny and the other includes actions to improve mobility in the territories of the protected designations of origin and geographical indications.
