Galician cuisine was widely represented at the Food Festival Bife Espadarte in Vila Praia de Âncora (Caminha) through Xantar, the International Gastronomic Tourism, which begins thus promoting its next edition.

The Portuguese authorities have invited representatives of Xantar to this gastronomic celebration, which runs until August 21 for the exaltation of swordfish in what is considered one of the Portuguese villas “more Galician” as a very important part of its population Galician fishermen descended from centuries ago began their activity in this area.

Xantar filing was made by the Director of International Relations of Expourense, Emma Gonzalez, who welcomed the involvement of Portuguese public and private entities with the Galician fair -Tourism Porto and North took advantage of the presence in this presentation to announce their participation in the next edition of the fair- and recalled that “Xantar is the only officially recognized international exhibition, which exists in Spain, specializing in gastronomic tourism”.
Expourense and Xantar have three consecutive years representing Galicia in this Festival held every year in mid-August. This action is just one of those Expourense promoted in the field of cross-border cooperation in the Euroregion Galicia-Norte de Portugal, and in a special way on the basis of relations with the main partner is the Entity of Tourism, Porto e Norte. Xantar promoted its next edition to be held from 1 to 5 February 2017 and in which Portugal will be one of the protagonists, thus promoting tourism proximity.
