By virtue of an agreement signed between the Wine Routes Associations of Galicia and the Xunta de Galicia, the public administration will provide the Galician wine tourism offer with a technological tool that allows travellers to make on-line reservations for this type of activity.

The platform for marketing enogastronomic experiences will begin to take its first steps at the end of this year although it will not be fully operational until 2020. The final objective is that tourists can buy enotourist packages with the same ease and immediacy that today can be booked through the Internet a flight or a hotel, thus boosting this tourist segment and providing it with tools to improve its competitiveness and modernization.

In a first phase, the website will allow travellers and Galicians themselves to have at their fingertips, in a single website, all the information and food and wine offer available in the territory covered by the designation of origin, as well as complementary services. Subsequently, in a second phase, planned for 2020, the establishments associated with wine tourism such as wineries, restaurants, accommodation, museums, guides, transport and the Wine Route Association itself will be able to manage directly and without intermediaries the products they offer for sale, inform of their availability or create special offers. In addition, an application will be launched for companies in the sector that will allow to record the entries of visitors when they enter their facilities avoiding the falsification of tickets and establishing a control.

With the launch of this initiative, Galician wine tourism will advance in quality by making use of smart technology applied to the tourism sector. The implementation of this new platform will contribute, in addition to benefit the companies of a hundred municipalities in the four provinces, to continue promoting wine tourism in Galicia, a sector in which the Xunta is working transversally.

These initiatives are complemented with other initiatives such as the strategy Galicia Sabe, the roadmap which sets out the main lines of action and priorities for the next five years to promote a sustainable gastronomic tourism based on local and seasonal products, or on the support of the Xunta for the tourist signposting of the Wine Routes or the celebration of the open days, among other activities.
