The president of the Galician Tourism Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, led a working meeting last week with the Regional Minister of Rural Environment, María José Gómez, to continue strengthening the ties of collaboration between two key sectors for the sustainable development of Galicia: tourism and the primary sector.
The meeting was also attended by the Vice President of the Cluster, Jesús Picallo, the Treasurer, Alfonso Martínez, and representatives of the Technical Secretariat, along with the directors of the Galician Agency for Food Quality (AGACAL), Martín Alemparte, and of Tourism of Galicia, Xosé Manuel Merelles.
During the meeting, the existing synergies between tourism and differentiated quality products from the Galician countryside were discussed, and new avenues for collaboration were shared to continue promoting a joint strategy that strengthens Galicia’s positioning through its gastronomic identity, its rural landscape, and its authenticity.
The Cluster highlighted the role of the wine and food scene as one of the main motivations for traveling to Galicia, in addition to its potential to generate local economy, promote the region, and contribute to the preservation of rural traditions and landscapes.
The meeting is part of the Cluster’s strategy to continue building bridges between the various stakeholders involved in the development of tourism in Galicia, with an integrative vision that focuses on sustainability, innovation, and the value of the region.
