Xunta has just given the go-ahead to an agreement that will allow the investment of 2 million euros from the Next Generation Funds.

The tourism sustainability project Sanxenxo 365 days developed by this well-known municipality of the Rías Baixas has passed a new step to be able to materialize. After receiving months ago the approval of the Sectorial Conference of Tourism and the Secretary of State for Tourism, now it is the regional government that has given the green light to a new step. It did so at the last meeting of the Council of the Xunta by approving the signing of the collaboration agreement between the Galicia Tourism Agency and the Council of Sanxenxo necessary for its implementation.

Xunta explained that the Sanxenxo 365 days project has been budgeted at 2 million euros and is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience plan financed by the Next Generation funds.

The project includes various actions, such as the conditioning of accesses, landscape improvement, eco-efficient equipment and digital musealisation of the A Telleira Interpretation Centre, an old factory located in the parish of Vilalonga, which the City Council wants to promote as a space for dissemination.

It is also planned to refurbish the surroundings and the facilities of the Pazo de Quintáns, a stately building that will also serve as an interpretation centre.

Both actions are intended to increase the range of activities that the municipality makes available to visitors beyond the summer months and thus contribute to an increase in the deseasonalisation of tourist demand.
