The House of Galicia in the Spanish capital hosted a presentation of the programme of the 23rd edition of the event in Ourense, which will be held from 9 to 13 November.
Cesáreo Pardal accompanied the director of Xantar, Rogelio Martínez, and the vice-president of the County Council and president of Inorde, Rosendo Fernández, in the event held in Madrid.
The implementation of the high-speed rail connection between Madrid and Galicia through Ourense is one of the added incentives with which those responsible for the International Gastronomic Tourism Fair Xantar want to boost the celebration of its 23rd edition. This has been demonstrated with the launch of a tourist package in collaboration with the wholesaler Siente Galicia, and with the presentation of the programme on Monday 23rd at the House of Galicia in Madrid. The director of Xantar, Rogelio Martínez, the vice president of the Provincial Council of Ourense and president of the Ourense Institute of Economic Development (Inorde), Rosendo Fernández, and the president of the Galicia Tourism Cluster and member of the advisory committee of Xantar, Cesáreo Pardal, travelled to the Spanish capital.
Accompanied by the director of the House of Galicia in Madrid, Juan Carlos Serrano, they explained the details of an event that also aims to take advantage of the final stages of this double Holy Year 2021-22 and whose program will again occupy a prominent place in the promotion of the gastronomy of the places through which pass the various pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela.
The proposals of seven restaurants from different parts of Galicia, Zamora, Portugal and the United States, the activities of the seventeenth International Meeting on Healthy and Sustainable Gastronomy (cookery workshops, commented tastings, presentations and conferences), the International Meeting of Gastronomic and Oenophile Guilds, the Gastronomic and Tourism Bloggers Meeting, and the new edition of the Wine Tunnel and the Grupo Cuevas Gourmet Competition are some of the numerous attractions of this edition of Xantar, whose extensive programme will offer more than a hundred activities over five days.
There will also be a space dedicated to the promotion of Galicia’s gastronomic festivals and in the exhibitor space there will be a large presence of destinations and companies from all over Galicia, as well as from other parts of Spain and northern Portugal, and even from other countries, such as Peru and Costa Rica.
