The organic products fair to be held from 4 to 6 March at EXPOCoruña will pay special attention to ecotourism in this edition.
The promoters of the BioCultura organic products fair, to be held in A Coruña from 4 to 6 March, have decided to focus on ecotourism in this new edition, with the collaboration of organisations such as the Galician Tourism Cluster. In addition to the usual proposals in the field of bioculture, responsible consumption and alternatives that respect the environment and health, this year there will be other new proposals related to sustainable tourism through the gastronomic and tourist offer of different destinations and the holding of conferences and other activities on heritage and culture. “We want to broaden the range of possibilities offered to the public at the fair. And, speaking of Galicia, it was clear that the sure bet was on ecotourism, as ‘the green corner’ is a pioneer and a great reference in this aspect”, explains Ángeles Parra, director of Biocultura, a fair that is held annually in Barcelona and Madrid, and every two years in Seville, Valencia, Bilbao and A Coruña.
Rural tourism establishments and urban hotels that fly the flag for sustainability and organic products, as well as other businesses focused on health, wellbeing and experiences in the natural environment will be present at EXPOCoruña. “We will find activities that have as protagonists the ecological world and ecotourism in unison, as it is obvious that they are very close and parallel universes: For example, in the showcooking we will find proposals of ecological gastronomy linked to the territory and the tourist offer; we will also be able to taste products from areas that we can visit and get to know; and we will even taste ecological food with traditional recipes from different Galician areas and from the rest of Spain”, says Ángeles Parra.
BioCultura highlights the good reception that this commitment to combining responsible consumption with ecotourism has received. They point out as proof of this the collaboration they have obtained from the Galicia Tourism Cluster and administrations and entities such as the Xunta de Galicia, the A Coruña Provincial Council, the A Coruña Council and the Regulatory Council for Organic Farming in Galicia (Craega). In this third edition of BioCultura Coruña they hope to bring together more than 150 exhibitors and offer a similar number of parallel activities. It is expected that more than 13,000 visitors will visit EXPOCoruña between 4 and 6 March to get to know all the fair’s proposals.
