The initiative of the Galician Tourism Agency is aimed at accommodation and catering establishments and the deadline for requests will be open until 25 October.

With the publication in the Official Journal of Galicia of the corresponding call for requests, the deadline has opened for entrepreneurs in the accommodation and catering sector to apply for a new line of aid for the promotion of digitisation and digital marketing. Self-employed, micro-enterprises and SMEs are the recipients of this subsidy programme launched by the Xunta through the Galician Tourism Agency and whose total amount amounts to 6 million euros.

The aim of the aid is to address the consequences of covid in the tourism sector and contribute to its recovery by improving its economic activity and competitiveness through digital transformation. Thus, applicants will be able to allocate the aid to expenses arising from the installation of hotel management software, both to organise their areas efficiently and to meet the demands of their customers. They may also finance marketing products and services aimed at attracting and retaining customers and actions related to their corporate websites. They will also be able to acquire basic technological equipment related to the control of the pandemic and to assume expenses derived from telework management systems.

Within the hospitality sector, the call covers hotels, hostels, rural houses, restaurants and bars, as well as other accommodation and catering establishments. The subsidy will cover 100 % of the planned expenditure up to a maximum amount of 15,000 euros per beneficiary.

Applicants must have their tax domicile in Galicia and be registered in the Xunta de Galicia’s Register of Tourism Businesses and Activities. Applications must be submitted electronically through the corresponding form on the website http://sede.xunta.gal. The deadline for doing so will be open until 25 October.
