The ninth edition of the Tourist Trains of Galicia foresees 37 departures between June and October.

Next summer, the train will once again be the ideal form of transport to discover Galicia and enjoy the tourist offer of the region. The Xunta de Galicia, Renfe and the Provincial Council of Ourense have joined forces to launch the ninth edition of the Galician Tourist Trains, an initiative that will run between June and October, according to the representatives of the three institutions at the last edition of Fitur.

The anti-covid protocols with which the initiative was developed last year, once recovered after the 2020 hiatus, served to gain the confidence of the public and achieve a train occupancy rate of almost 100%. This confidence, together with the improvement in the pandemic situation and the attractiveness of the routes designed, will once again be the strong points of an event designed to recover the number of passengers and travellers prior to covid.

The itineraries designed increase from last year’s 11 to 13 and will allow visitors to discover emblematic places and destinations in Galicia such as lighthouses, manor houses, historic gardens, monasteries, the lamprey route, different itineraries of the Way of St. James and the areas of the five wine designations of origin. In addition, this year’s edition includes the As Mariñas Route through Betanzos, Pontedeume and Ferrol, and the Cheese Route between A Coruña and Teixeiro. The number of planned departures will also increase from 22 last year to a total of 37 departures during the summer of 2022.
