Former ministers José Blanco and Ana Pastor, and the president of the Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, are some of the experts invited to participate in the forum organised by the Xunta de Galicia.

The launching a few weeks ago of the high-speed train (AVE) linking Madrid with Ourense opens a new scenario in terms of mobility and opportunities for development and improvement of Galicia’s competitiveness. The analysis of this new situation is the aim of the debate forum organised by the Xunta de Galicia on Friday 14th January in Expourense under the title “A way to Galicia: challenges and opportunities”, which will bring together a group of prominent speakers, such as the former ministers José Blanco and Ana Pastor, and the president of the Galicia Tourism Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal.

One of the specific aspects that will be addressed at the forum is the consequences that the AVE will have for the tourism sector. It will be in this section where Cesáreo Pardal will have the opportunity to speak alongside the Director of Galicia Tourism, Nava Castro, and to respond to the Xunta’s intention that the tourism and business sector should be actively involved in the activation of resources and initiatives that will enable to make the most of the AVE.

Miguel Rodríguez Bugarín, Professor of Railways at the University of A Coruña, and Agustín Hernández, President of the Galician Economic and Social Council, will analyse the actions still pending and necessary to complete the arrival of the AVE to the rest of the Galician cities. The President of the Galician Confederation of Businessmen, Juan Manuel Vieites, will also take part in the forum. The activities will be opened by the Regional Minister of Infrastructures and Mobility, Ethel Vázquez, and closed by the President of the Xunta de Galicia, Alberto Núñez Feijóo.
