30 September is the deadline to opt for part of the 300,000 euros in aid for the creation of new products.

Some twenty companies have already joined the initiative promoted by the Galicia Tourism Cluster with the support of the Xunta de Galicia.

Accommodation, restaurants, travel agencies and suppliers of complementary tourist offerings are the targets of this programme.

The Galicia Destino Sostible Product Club has just reached the halfway point of the open period for Galician companies in the tourism sector to join. This initiative, promoted by the Galicia Tourism Cluster with funding from the Xunta de Galicia, was officially presented on 11 July and at this point, halfway to 30 September, the deadline for registration, has already attracted around twenty companies.

Accommodation, restaurants, travel agencies and complementary tourism providers are the recipients of a Product Club that was created with the aim of integrating the entire sustainable tourism offer in Galicia, contributing to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals and serving as a bridge between companies and customers. The commitment to local, environmental and good governance of companies and the promotion of unique experiences that leave an impact on the visitor, but minimising the ecological footprint, and that provide the greatest confidence to the user are also some of the differentiating aspects of Galicia Destino Sostible.

In addition to being part of a differential tourism offer, participants will receive training and advice on sustainable tourism, will have access to a new channel for attracting customers, will benefit from a better ability to seek partnerships and will have promotion and dissemination at national level. Likewise, this initiative is endowed with a line of aid for the creation of new sustainable tourism products for a total amount of 312,000 euros, which will be granted in strict order of application and will be formalised by means of a collaboration agreement.

To become a member of the Galicia Destino Sostible Product Club, a series of requirements must be met, which vary depending on whether it is a restaurant, accommodation, travel agency or complementary tourism company. Applicants who have an official environmental or sustainability certification will have direct access as this is a qualifying requirement, while the rest will have to meet 100 % of the mandatory requirements and 33 % of the assessable ones.
