In two days of work they maintained direct contact with 44 businessmen of the Galician tourist sector who traveled in commercial mission.

The initiative allows to establish synergies and bring the Galician tourist offer closer to points of national tourism and has the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

More than 200 professionals from the tourism sector in Galicia and Andalusia came together in the two working days that the Galician Tourism Cluster promoted in Malaga and Seville in the framework of the third edition of the Proximity Workshops held this Tuesday and Wednesday in Malaga and Seville. The trade mission, which involved 44 companies in the Galician tourism sector (accommodation, tour operation, wineries …) allowed bringing the Galician tourism offer to the intermediation of Andalusia, among which were the main travel agencies and tour operation of Malaga and Seville. Both cities were the two destinations chosen this year by the Galician Tourism Cluster to publicize Galicia as a destination of proximity between professionals in the national tourism sector, along with Lisbon, which will host next week the last of the proximity workshops this year.

“We want you to get to know Galicia better, we want you to come and visit it so that you can sell it”, explained the president of the Galician Tourism Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, who stressed the importance of carrying out this type of action in local markets that “allow us to know better the needs of the markets of origin in order to improve the marketing and promotion of the destination Galicia”.

A consolidated initiative

In both cities the professionals of the tourism sector of these territories held scheduled meetings with Galician businessmen in order to generate new synergies with other tour operators, publicize products or services or strengthen networking.

The working meetings were completed, moreover, with a cocktail made from 100% Galician products and preparations, prepared by the chef from A Coruña, Pablo Gallego, as well as musical animation by the folk group Son de Seu and raffles between the Andalusian tour operation of more than a hundred stays in hotels as well as enogastronomic experiences throughout the Galician territory valued at more than 12,000 euros.

With this edition there are already three years that the Cluster Tourism of Galicia takes with this initiative, in which the professionals of the Galician tourist sector choose tourist destinations located in the peninsula, well communicated with Galicia and that are generators of tourist flows towards our territory, ideal as much for long stays as for city breaks as the escapades in bridges, festive or weekends.

The initiative has the support of the Consellería de Cultura e Turismo, which also participated with a stand of Turismo de Galicia, complementing the commercial contacts with the tasks of promotion of the destination Galicia.
