The entity that brings together 95% of the Galician tourism sector was the protagonist of one of the presentations of the first day

One more edition maintains the management of the working space of the stand of Galicia in the International Tourism Fair that from today is celebrated in Madrid
The Tourism Cluster of Galicia was one of the protagonists of the presentations that took place in the space of Galicia in the first day of Fitur2020 that is developed from today until Sunday in Madrid. Under the title “Boosting the tourism sector in 2019 and future prospects”, the president of the entity that brings together more than 70 partners and more than 7000 Galician tourism companies, Cesáreo Pardal, was responsible for carrying out the presentation of the challenges assumed by the Cluster for 2020.

In this sense, Pardal highlighted that the Cluster, as the vertebral entity of the Galician tourist offer, will continue working in 2020 “with the sight put in the exceptional year 2021, in which we will celebrate the Year xacobeo, but mainly with a view to the post-Jacobeo of the year 2022, to maintain the impulse that allows us a better situation in our tourist sector”, explained Pardal, “to continue growing in profitability but always with feeling, betting on actions consistent with our work objectives and, above all, betting on giving continuity to the synergies established with all public administrations with which we have to go hand in hand to respond to all these challenges.

During his speech, the president of the CTG put on the table some of the actions that the Cluster will carry out in the coming months, among which he highlighted the commitment to the internationalization of the tourism offer through trade missions in Dublin and Frankfurt, which will be completed with the usual international missions to London, Berlin and Rimini. In addition, the CTG’s interest in carrying out an exploratory trade mission in Korea and another in the United States advanced. “Workshops will also be held in local and international markets, and cultural activities will be organised in these areas as part of the generation of synergies between culture and tourism”, explained Cesáreo Pardal, who took advantage of his speech to thank the Q Quality Award that will be collected tomorrow on Q Night, which is held annually by the ICTE.

The president of the Cluster also took advantage of his participation in Fitur to review the actions developed by the entity in 2019, highlighting the progress made in these seven years by both the sector and the entity itself, meeting historical milestones and under the maxims of bringing together a heterogeneous and cross-cutting sector; cooperating hand in hand with the various public administrations; advancing in the necessary regulation of the sector and setting common challenges under the criteria of quality, sustainability and performance. These last criteria will continue to mark the actions of the CTG in 2020. Finally, Cesáreo Pardal also highlighted that in 2020 the Galicia Tourism Awards, which had their first edition in 2019, will be held again.

Meeting space
In addition to this presentation, the Galician Tourism Cluster maintains a very active presence in the first professional event of the year through the management of the work space that, once again, the Galician sector has at its disposal to maintain its professional meetings within the Galicia stand, annexed to the presentation area.

Through the management of the agenda and the work tables, the professionals of the sector have a space managed by the CTG to maintain their meetings during the days dedicated to the professional sector, between Wednesday and Friday, in an area in which the CTG has arranged 12 work tables as well as two people to manage the reservations of space that allows to take advantage of the space that Galicia has in this international fair.

Fitur, an essential event for the sector

Once again, the Galician exhibitor at Fitur will act as a showcase for the Galician tourism model within the framework of the first international event with the tourism sector, a fair that this year celebrates its 40th anniversary by expanding its exhibition space. In the last edition, more than 75 thousand people visited the stand of Galicia, where more than 300 professional meetings were held in the work space managed by the CTG, a figure that could even be exceeded in this edition.
