The Galicia Tourism Agency will allocate 3.5 million to improvements in catering and accommodation businesses, in addition to the 75 million that will be included in the second rescue plan for the entire sector

 

The Official Gazette of Galicia has published the Resolution that establishes the regulatory bases for the granting of subsidies for the improvement of infrastructures of tourist accommodation and catering establishments in Galicia. In total, a total of 3.5 million euros will go to these grants.

Companies may receive between 30 and 50 percent of the investment, which may not exceed 100,000 euros.

Could be subsidized actions such as:

  • those aimed at improving accessibility conditions and eliminating architectural barriers;
  • works aimed at improving facilities in order to obtain quality certifications, especially the Q for Tourist Quality;
  • those destined to the adaptation to the normative modifications and to the improvement of the classification of the establishment that suppose an increase of category;
  • renovation and modernization of the facilities and beautification of the facility environment;
  • furniture equipment necessary for operation;
  • those for the improvement of air conditioning that favor sustainability with the implementation of energy saving measures, as well as the installation or improvement of air extraction and renewal systems;
  • those for the digitization of the establishment’s management and marketing systems;
  • the adaptation of health and safety systems in the provision of services.

On the other hand, the Xunta de Galicia, through the First Vice-Presidency and the Department of Tourism and the Department of Emprego and Equality, has prepared some files in which it explains the contents and beneficiaries of the second rescue plan for the sectors affected by measures against the pandemic, endowed with 75 million euros. As happened in the first plan, there is a specific line for the hospitality industry.
