The new edition of the international exhibition will be held from November 3 to 7 and will focus on the flavours of the different routes of the Way of St. James.

The gastronomy of the different pilgrimage routes to Compostela will be one of the main threads of Xantar, the new edition of the international exhibition that every year turns Ourense into the capital of gastronomic tourism From November 3 to 7, the spotlights of the sector will once again point towards the city of Las Burgas to be attentive to an event whose 22nd edition wants to serve as a meeting point for professionals of enogastronomy, hospitality and tourism from all over the Iberian Peninsula. To achieve this, the organisers have put together an extensive programme of activities which will include workshops between companies in the sector, conferences, tasting classes and tastings, exhibitions and presentations, meetings of bloggers and gastronomic guilds, and competitions and prizes.

Food and wine destinations, quality agri-food products, gastronomic festivals and celebrations with historical content, designations of origin, gourmet products, gastronomic art, hospitality services and quality wines and beverages are the main sectors represented at Xantar, a fair promoted by Expourense with the sponsorship of the Xunta, the City Council and the Diputación de Ourense, and in whose organisation the Galician Tourism Cluster also collaborates as a member of the Advisory Committee.

Xantar premieres this year a new date by moving in the calendar from February to November, thus linking it to a time when gastronomy takes on special relevance in the city of Ourense with the celebration of San Martiño and the magostos. The new situation generated by the pandemic has forced adjustments to the programme, but its promoters hope to repeat the success of previous editions. In the most recent, that of 2020, around 25,000 people passed through the Expourense site to get to know the proposals of its almost 300 exhibitors and participate in the 150 activities programmed. This year, Xantar once again aspires to win the favour of the public and professionals in the sector and ensure that their visit to the fair leaves them with an unbeatable impression.
