The conference served to generate synergies among entrepreneurs in order to adapt and improve the services offered to their customers

One hundred tourism companies, digital suppliers and professionals of the sector interested in learning about the changes that are taking place in the tourism sector at a global level participated in the Professional Meeting “Innovation and digital transformation of tourism” that the Galician Tourism Cluster in collaboration with the Pontevedra Provincial Council has held this morning at the Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo.

The importance of cooperation to improve connectivity and digital services offered to tourists, the big data and the Internet of things as technological innovations that are already present in a tourism sector where the traveler 3.0 demand services adapted to their new needs or the implementation of new technologies that allow the personalization, loyalty and improvement of tourist services were some of the main conclusions that were drawn.
The conference was composed of two lectures and several round tables in which leading experts from companies such as R; Bismart, focused on big data, Made in Mobil, specializing in IOT (Internet of Things); Knowdle, which has developed a software 100% Spanish oriented to collective intelligence; PastView, which develops virtual reality projects; Brandmaniac, which offered information on the use of marketing to influence on, a tourist consultant Nani Arenas or More Turismo Internacional.

Success stories and new developments
A meeting where professionals were able to learn about successful cases in the implementation of new technologies through the SmartPeme project of the Pontevedra Provincial Council and deepen the use of these tools to better communicate the destination Galicia, as well as learn the latest developments in virtual reality or collective intelligence.

The opening ceremony was also attended by the president of the ICT Cluster, Antonio Rodríguez, the mayor of Sanxenxo, Telmo Martin, the provincial deputy of Innovation, Economic Promotion and Tourism of the Pontevedra Provincial Council, Santos Héctor and the provincial area manager of Pontevedra Tourism of Galicia, Mª Ángeles Herrero. All of them stressed the importance of developing such initiatives and public-private cooperation as a fundamental tool for their implementation, as well as the importance of continuing to work on strengthening Galicia, in the province of Pontevedra and Sanxenxo, as an innovative and competitive tourist destination.
