Working day

The president of the Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, will make a presentation of the Product Club during the session scheduled for 26 January.

With “Sustainable Tourism” as a common thread, the Provincial Council of Pontevedra and the technology centre EnergyLab have scheduled for 26 January a conference on Greentour, the European project launched with the aim of achieving new products of sustainable tourism and circular economy to safeguard the heritage. The session will serve to present the most notable results and the experiences acquired through the project partners within the SUDOE territory (southwest Europe) and which is being applied as a pilot project in Lloret de Mar, Andorra, Massif du Sancy (France), the Camino Lebaniego, Guimarães (Portugal) and the Rías Baixas.

Thus, among the speakers will be Sandra Jiménez Almendros, Quality Coordinator of Lloret Tourism; Inés Calvo Pensado, Tourism Technician of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra; Carlos Fernández Martínez, European Project Manager of the Fundación Lebaniego Way Foundation, and Lígia Azevedo, Senior Tourism Technician of the Guimarães City Council, who will speak about their respective destinations.

But before this section of results and experiences there will be time to know the content of the Galicia Destino Sostible Product Club created by the Galicia Tourism Cluster with the collaboration of the Xunta de Galicia to integrate and enhance the value of the Galician tourism offer that contributes to sustainable growth of this destination. The president of the Cluster, Cesáreo Pardal, will explain the genesis and the details of this proposal that in just six months of life has achieved the adhesion of 70 companies and that already offers through its website a hundred and a half tourist products designed according to sustainability criteria.

The conference will be held on Thursday 26th from 9.30 am in the Pazo Provincial of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra and can also be followed online. The provincial president, Carmela Silva, and the general director of EnergyLab, Fernando Val López, will be in charge of the official opening. Then (9.50), María Gallego Fernández, researcher of urban and industrial ecosystems at EnergyLab, will explain the keys to the Greentour project, followed (10.05) by Cesáreo Pardal and his presentation “Galicia Destino Sostible: committed tourism”.

Representatives of the four destinations selected to explain their experiences will speak from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by a question and answer session.
